TOP HAT
General Information
Duggan Profiles roll-formed Top Hats may be used with ProSigma or Cee cladding rails to provide a support structure for horizontally laid cladding. The Top Hats (highlighted in red in the diagram below) are bolted to the sheeting rails to create an offset fixing face for sheeting. This contrasts with the VCR cladding rail system which should be used if a flush finish is required. M12 grade 8.8 bolts are used to form the connection and a Top Hat Sleeve is used to join individual lengths. For the majority of cases the DP-TOPHAT50 with its 50mm fixing face will be adequate however where joining of cladding is necessary the DP-TOPHAT140 with its extra wide face may be used. Top Hats may be supplied in either galvanised or prepainted material options.
Top Hats may be manufactured in lengths up to 10m long however it may be desirable to order these in shorter sections for ease of handling on site. The Top Hat Sleeve is used to form a spliced connection between adjoining lengths. This is shown in the image below.
